We know that it’s important to get free help from assisters that understand LGBT health and our questions. That’s why we created this tool to directly connect our communities with culturally competent assisters – whether Navigators, certified application counselors, in-person assisters, agents, or brokers – who are trained to work with LGBT people and committed to creating an affirming environment.

All assisters with a rainbow icon have participated in Out2Enroll’s training on how to reach and assist LGBT communities and have affirmed their agreement with the following statements:

• I affirm that my organization is prepared to provide LGBT-culturally competent enrollment assistance and support to individuals seeking health coverage.
• The assisters at my organization have the knowledge and skills to aid LGBT people seeking health coverage, and are committed to creating an environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and affirming of LGBT people and their families.
• My organization is committed to ensuring that all our assister services are equally available to everyone who needs them, regardless of factors such as sexual orientation, gender identity, family configuration, or health status.

We do not screen all assisters at every organization and therefore cannot make any guarantees. However, the Affordable Care Act prohibits any assister from discriminating based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
