Out2Enroll reviewed more than 850 silver marketplace plan options from 81 insurers in 16 states and found that 1) the vast majority of insurers removed transgender-specific exclusions from their 2017 marketplace plans and 2) nearly 20 percent of plans had language indicating that all or some medically necessary transition-related care would be covered by the plan. Despite this progress, some plans still had exclusions that limit access to transition-related care.
