Looking for health insurance for 2017 through HealthCare.gov? We’ve got you covered! Out2Enroll reviewed more than 850 silver marketplace plan options from 81 insurers in 16 states and found that 1) the vast majority of insurers removed transgender-specific exclusions from their 2017 marketplace plans and 2) nearly 20 percent of plans had language indicating that all or some medically necessary transition-related care would be covered by the plan. Despite this progress, some plans still had exclusions that limit access to transition-related care.
To help you understand your options, we’ve created new state-specific Transgender Health Insurance Guides and encourage you to make an appointment with an LGBT-friendly expert who can help you enroll for free.
